The Road To Wellville

So here we are coming up on 8 weeks this Wednesday since we first got sick as a family. The Gill's are on the Road to Wellville. (hopefully)

I swear in the last week that the two Dr's that we have taken Aidan too have been Dr. John Harvey Kellogg reincarnated. They act like I'm over-reacting because my baby has been vomiting. I'm sorry, I'm not. The 24 hour flu should be pretty close to that in my book, 24-48 hrs tops. Aidan however, has had this for 6 days now. He's still not eating right, throwing up and just basically unbearable to be around. I finally convinced the Dr yesterday to give him an another antibiotic for his right ear. I know they have years of medical training, but I know my baby!

8 weeks of miserable kids, adults and one fat cat. If this doesn't drive me to start drinking I don't know what will!

Quick update

We are all sick as dogs! Except Madelynn and I do hope it stays that way. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. Ok, maybe my worst enemy but I'd have to find her first.

Aidan, Brendon and I all have this nasty stomach flu. Oh my stars, I am so TIRED of this. It's so bad that we called for help from Brendon's mom to come over and help. She came last night just to get Madelynn ready for bed and she cleaned up the kitchen and did laundry. She's back this morning to help too. I am starting to feel better but still just want to sleep. However my body is sore from lying down so that is why I am upright typing.

So the battle continues for a house full of sick people in Morrinsville.

Why? Why? Why?

Can't I just have a house that isn't sick!?!?! UGH!! Yesterday about 4:00pm Aidan decided to throw up all over the kitchen floor. Thankfully he did do it on the lino so it was easy to clean up. Then about 10 mins later he did it again and my queasy stomach couldn't handle it so I threw up right along with him. Now if that wasn't fun to clean up!

Poor little guy was not well. He was hungry but just couldn't keep it down. He ate 2 bowls of dinner and a red popsicle and that all didn't stay down either.

He was miserable all night with the dry heaves and a runny bottom to boot. He is a little better today but you can just see how miserable he is in his face.

If summer doesn't get her quick so these kids can go out and play and get some fresh air I'm going to scream!

April 3rd, 2007

Mark it on your calandars! It's the date we are expecting our newest family member.

After all the winter bugs subsided, I realized I wasn't getting any better. The constant flu-like symptons actually were for another reason.

Thankfully they seem to be getting better but it has been and is still a real struggle to cope. My morning sickness is all day. It lasted until month 7 with Madelynn and month 5 with Aidan. So hopefully it will end in the next week or so with this baby. As it's not easy to explain to a 3 1/2 and 17 month old why Mommy is constantly carrying around a bucket or in the toilet praying to the porcelain god.

We still haven't told Brendon's family but they don't even know I have a blog so it's pretty safe to post here. Not that I really care anyway! It's my news! LOL

Now it's off to try to keep my breakfast down.

No more cakes until February!

It's hard to say no sometimes. My niece, Rebecca, asked me if I would make her birthday cake. So I said yes. How do you say no to a 5 year old? She tells me that she doesn't want Granny to make her cake. Which is understandable, Granny can't bake to save her life. The uneasy part is that for her birthday it's always a combined family party for her 2 cousins as well who have birthdays the following week. Granny made their 2 cakes. I felt a bit bad for Connor and Leticia because they come bouncing in like kids do to admire the cakes and they both were "oohing and awing" over Rebecca's butterfly compared to the lumps of chocolate and lemon that Granny had concocted for them. I don't mean to be cruel but I do mean "LUMPS" They were total messes when they were finally set before the kids with candles. I don't know what happens to them but they just were the most unappealing looking cakes I have seen yet.

I know Granny tries hard but it's hard to say, "Wow! Those look great, give me a bite" After all the singing was done and the cakes were cut and 19 people had a choice of what to eat. I'm happy to say there was no butterfly cake left. But I did feel a bit sad for the 2 other cakes and Granny. Most importantly, I was relieved as I don't have to make another birthday cake until February!!

Back to Blogging

Finally got a chance to get back to the blog. We are all starting to feel better. However Aidan's right ear still hasn't cleared up. He is on one more course of antibiotics and heads back to the Dr. on Monday to check it again.

So just when we are finally all starting to whip the bugs that have been plaguing us I find out my baby brother is dealing with other health problems. Things that can be a bit more serious than our little ones.

That's not supposed to happen! He's the rough and tough, bad-ass of Montezuma County. Super-hero crime fighter and legend in his own mind. (oops, got him confused with Dad's alter-ego there!) LOL

Get better little brother, I'd hate it if finally I could come and kick your butt after all these years.

On the mend

Well we are still fighting the latest nasty bug around here. Nine days ago we (Aidan, Madelynn and I) we hit head on by this crap. We went to the doctor on Monday and discovered that both kids had ear infections. Doctor said it was some sort of bacterial infections so she put all 3 of us on anti-biotics.

It's been a long haul this past few weeks as for about the last 6 we have all been sick. With us all being so sick it really makes you wonder how the hell would we ever survive if Bird Flu ever hit. Thank goodness we have been stock piling the food and stuff.

Sick and tired....

Of being SICK and TIRED! Yes, that's what's going on here, AGAIN! It's why I've not had a blog updated for awhile. We are once again sick and have all the goodies that come with it. Oh, and Aidan has decided to cut 3 teeth at this time as well. He's just like most men has shitty timing.

I feel like a bus has hit me. I want my Mommy!! When we are all sick like this I cannot help but think of the time when we were young and our whole family was sick with bronchitis or something. Grandma came to the rescue to take care of us. Unfortunately, I live too far away for Nana to come and play nurse to us. Damn, New Zealand for being so far away, I really hate this place sometimes.

Well I'm off to wipe some more noses, give some more dimetap and baby aspirin, and hopefully catch a nap on the couch between watching the Wiggles and other childrens videos I'm sick of.
